The Greater Springfield Zero Net Energy Vision means that by 2038, the six suburbs that make up the city of Greater Springfield will be generating more energy than they consume.
Global energy and services group ENGIE and Springfield City Group signed a historic 50-year strategic alliance to make Greater Springfield a net zero energy city.
It’s an exciting challenge but chasing the ultimate goal sees both companies exploring innovative ways to deal with energy and deliver better city ideas across Greater Springfield. The alliance engages the community, stakeholders, government and others to deliver innovative goals.
Under the alliance, investments are being planned in renewable energy generation and storage infrastructure, district energy schemes, green mobility solutions, digital technology, energy efficiency initiatives and a dedicated research and innovation centre.
