The Greater Springfield region is now home to renowned financial service provider Morgans, with the opening of their new office on the ground floor of the Springfield Tower.
Jeff White, Morgans private client advisor and partner of Milton-Springfield-Ipswich offices, said he had been looking to relocate to Springfield Central at the start of last year.
“We were literally a week away from signing the lease when COVID hit,” Mr. White said.
“During that period we closed our Ipswich office and consolidated all staff into the Milton office, and worked from home so that we could make sure staff were safe and secure.
“I was primarily based in our Milton Office, however we previously had an office located in East St, Ipswich in the old Bendigo Bank building.”
Mr. White said the drawcard to Greater Springfield was the enormous population growth in contrast to the very small amount of financial services available to people in the area.
“We wanted to be first movers and establish ourselves in the community for the long term,” he said.
“We also found Springfield City Group so easy to deal with and very happy to help build our presence which made the decision very easy for us.”
Mr. White said Greater Springfield was a great hub for business owners.
“It seems to have a lot of excitement about the place and businesses seem to be growing,” he said.
“There also seems to be a youthful vibe which may be due to the younger demographic in Greater Springfield, or the lack of older firms that seem to be dominant in Brisbane.
“It also seems to be very community focused which is why we see it important to become a big part of that community by participating in events, the Chamber of Commerce and sponsorships.”
Mr. White said he was excited about the opportunity to be a part of the local business community and evolve with Greater Springfield.
He is looking forward to helping local residents grow and protect their wealth and providing a holistic approach to financial and retirement planning, insurance and stockbroking services.
Mr. White said clients were from various areas including Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold and Sunshine coasts, Rural Western QLD (where he grew up), interstate and even some from overseas (Germany, USA and Amsterdam).
Seven staff members will be part of the Morgans team at Springfield Tower.
“We will have five full-time staff to start, though we have room for growth. Two of our staff are locals, one being Tony Russell, the original owner of the Ipswich office – he has been a long standing Brookwater resident,” Mr. White said.
Springfield City Group’s General Manager – Development Chris Lewis said he was pleased to welcome a national brand like Morgans to the Greater Springfield community.
“A brand such as Morgans reinforces business confidence and the growth story of Greater Springfield,” Mr. Lewis said.
“The Morgans team have been very activate in fostering business-to-business relationships with the community. As Australia’s largest national full-service stockbroking and wealth management firm, they will offer a new set of professional services for not only Greater Springfield but the wider community.”
