Greater Springfield Ball was a grand affair

The 14^th annual Greater Springfield Ball held on Saturday night was another great success, highlighting the strong partnership between Mater and Springfield City Group.

The theme of the evening was a “Grand Affair” and it certainly was.  After being offered a glass of champagne guests walked through the glittering entry on a red carpet before realizing that it is part of a couture gown being worn by a violinist serenading them into the room.  The room was dripping with gold touches including a gold Austrina curtain backdrop, candelabra, vases and red Columbian roses.  Guests were entertained by Douglas McRae performing Music of the Night from Phantom of the opera as well as sultry tunes from Franky Smart.

More than $63,000 was raised from the event which will support further services at Mater in the Greater Springfield community.
